Terms & Conditions

We want to give you and your pets a great service and thus, keep everyone happy.  However, we also want to be up front about what we will or will not and can or cannot offer so here are the facts.  Booker Pet Care provides the following Terms and Conditions for your peace of mind, your pets safety and to make clear our liabilities whilst your pet is in our care, these conditions are non-negotiable and use of our service implies you have read, understood and accepted our terms and conditions without exception.

Booker Pet Care will provide the agreed services in a manner that is trustworthy, caring and dependable. We will undertake to look after your pets in a responsible and professional manner. In return, by agreeing to use the services of Booker Pet Care either verbally or in writing, you, the client and pet owner understands, accepts and agrees to these terms and conditions.


  1. All copyright, trade marks, design rights, patents and other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) in and on BookerPetCare.co.uk and all content located on the site shall remain vested in Booker Pet Care. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use BookerPetCare.co.uk content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial use. 
  2. All views expressed on this website are the personal views and opinions of Booker Pet Care and do not represent any specialist or professional guidance or advice.
  3. Booker Pet Care will not confirm any booking until a consultation has been carried out with the client and the contract, with full details of client requirements, has been signed by the client.
  4. The client must provide Booker Pet Care with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet(s) in an emergency. If the contact is not available Booker Pet Care reserves the right to consult with Balanced Being as our personal Veterinary Care, and then make a decision which is in the best interests of the animal.
  5. The client is responsible for any veterinary bills, no matter how they are incurred, whilst pets are in the care of Booker Pet Care.
  6. Booker Pet Care must be alerted to any behavioural problems with their pets at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future contract.
  7. Although Booker Pet Care holds Public Liability insurance with Cliverton, wherever possible pets should be insured by the client.  Booker Pet Care reserves the right to refuse a booking for any animal which is not insured.
  8. Booker Pet Care will care for your animal as you would, and whilst we will make every effort to ensure your pet is well looked after in your absence, in the unlikely event that your pet becomes ill either inside or outside of the home or passes away whilst in our care, Booker Pet Care cannot be held liable.
  9. For Dog Walking and Home Boarding services, the Client confirms that all pets are fully vaccinated, micro-chipped, not in heat, and in good health (unless otherwise declared and a care plan agreed) and on a regular flea and worm control regime.
  10. In the event that the carer (Lynn) or a member of Booker Pet Care’s family be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from the Client’s pet, the Client shall be responsible for payment of all costs incurred by the carer in receiving treatment and subsequent care plus any legal costs, economic loss and/or consequential loss arising.
  11. Booker Pet Care reserves the right to terminate the contract at any time before or during its term if Booker Pet Care, in its sole discretion, determines that the Client’s pet(s) poses a danger to the health or safety, physical or mental condition of the carer.
  12. Booker Pet Care warrants that it holds Public Liability as well as Care and Custody of Animals, Loss of Keys and Pet Taxi.  Full details are available on request
  13. Booker Pet Care will make adequate steps to ensure your home is safe and secure in your absence as dogs are collected, or pets visited, however Booker Pet Care cannot be held responsible for any burglaries, or accidents caused by your pet(s).
  14. Booker Pet Care agrees to provide the services specified in the contract. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof the Client expressly waives and relinquishes any and all claims against the said Booker Pet Care including accidental damage to property and pets.
  15. Booker Pet Care reserves the right to amend or alter these Terms and Conditions as appropriate.
  16. All dogs are to have up to date inoculations (including kennel cough), or appropriate proof of adequate immunity, be de-flead and wormed prior to admittance.
  17. The following days are subject to double rates:  Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Years Eve, New Years Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday and all other Bank Holidays.
  18. The owner of the pet(s) must complete the agreement form to allow Booker Pet Care to act in the pet(s) best interest. Owners must also declare if their pet(s) is likely to cause any harm to themselves, other animals, our pets, Booker Pet Care family members, visitors to the premises or to the general public. If this is not disclosed then the agreement can be cancelled by us with no prior notice and no refund. 
  19. Any additional costs incurred for provisions or veterinary services will be borne by the client with the addition of an appropriate service charge.
  20. Booker Pet Care reserves the right to cancel with minimal notice, but will refund any deposits.
  21. Reservations are not held until the deposit is fully received by Booker Pet Care except special arrangements where agreed in writing. A penalty late charge may be imposed upon service that is not paid by the due date (within 7 days).  Unpaid service may be cancelled without notice, including prior to or during the service period.  Booker Pet Care reserves the right to refuse or cancel services if payment is not settled according to the above payment terms or by other agreed arrangement.
  22. The signed Booker Pet Care Services Agreement permits Booker Pet Care to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations and provide services without additional signed agreements.
  23. Booker Pet Care may vary the terms and conditions in connection with the services provided at any time, and service rates are subject to changes sometimes without personal notice.
  24. Booker Pet Care Services Agreement is valid from the date signed, and replaces any prior agreements.
  25. Email addresses given on Booker Pet Care Services Agreements are added to our mailing list so that you can be kept up to date with informative articles, promotions, new services and events etc. They are kept confidential and will never be sold or given to any third party.  Booker Pet Care can remove your email address from the list at any time upon your request.

Dog Walking

  1. All keys must be checked to be working before being issued to Booker Pet Care. 
  2. Please note that we are unable to walk bitches that are in season.  Please keep this in mind when booking.
  3. If the owner instructs Booker Pet Care to exercise the dog(s) off the lead, or your pet(s) should have access to a garden then the owner accepts full financial responsibility and liability for loss or damage caused.
  4. Unless specified, dogs will be walked in social groups whenever possible.  Dogs which require individual walking must be notified at the time of booking and will be subject to additional charges.
  5. Walk times as specified, agreed and booked are ‘walk’ times and do not include time needed for pick up and drop off.  Therefore dogs will be returned to their homes as soon as possible, allowing for traffic or other delays in returning home
  6. Whilst every attempt will be made to strictly adhere to specified and agreed pick up times, to ensure full walking times there may be delays caused by traffic or ‘wiping down’ in the event of muddy or wet conditions.  Please allow up to one hour for delays.
  7. Full payment for services (agreed either at the time of booking or subsequently) is to be made on the Friday each week of service (for dog walking clients) via cash, cheque (with additional £1.50 cheque charge), or bank transfer.  Delayed payments may incur additional charges of 2.5% of the total bill for each day that payment is overdue.
  8. If it is necessary for keys to be picked up or dropped off in order to complete an assignment, charges will be applied for each trip.
  9. In the event of inclement weather or natural disaster, Booker Pet Care is entrusted to use best judgement in caring for your pet(s). Booker Pet Care shall not be held responsible for any consequences related to such decisions.  For example, Booker Pet Care may cut short a walk if necessary because of extreme weather conditions (ie, heat, thunder storms) for the safety of both the dogs and the walker.
  10. Cancellations – for cancellations of walks for a period of 1 week or more, one month’s notice is required.  A week’s notice is required for cancellations of 1 or 2 days.  If the required notice is not given charges may be applied in full for the cancelled period.
  11. All dogs being walked will undergo a trial period to ensure that they are adequately trained and socialised.
  12. Booker Pet Care reserves the right to cancel the contract at any time and with immediate effect if the dog does not respond well to the walker and/or other dogs.
  13. All dogs will be exercised on a lead unless prior agreement has been reached with Booker Pet Care and a disclaimer form has been signed.
  14. All dogs are required by law to have an identification tag and collar with the owners name and address.  Booker Pet Care reserves the right not to walk dogs without the required identification in place and dogs without an identification tag and collar will not be covered by Booker Pet Care’s Insurance.


  1. If medication is required to be given, this is not a problem as long the medication is in its original container with clear instructions.
  2. Any additional expenses incurred by Booker Pet Care during the course of a booking must be paid directly within 7 days of the end of the booking.  This may include, but is not limited to, additional food, emergency home repairs, additional visits, emergency kennelling or cattery costs, and veterinary bills and will be supported with receipts.
  3. If you request us to terminate our services once a booking has commenced, you will not be entitled to any refund. 
  4. Cancellations – In the event of a cancellation of any part of the booking a cancellation fee will be payable as follows:-
    More than 4 weeks before commencement of service—no charge
    Between 4 and 2 weeks before commencement of service –50% payable
    Less than 2 weeks before commencement of service—100% payable
  5. The full boarding fee is payable for each day or part of a day.  A reduced fee of £12.50 will be made for the day of collection if your pet is collected before 12:30pm (to take into account the dog walk etc your dog will have enjoyed that day).
  6. We welcome owners to come to view and inspect our premises and visit our resident dogs, two Labradors, Maggie and Henry and Jack Russell, Georgie.  We will make you feel welcome.

Dog Boarding

  1. Booker Pet Care requires written acceptance that your dog(s) will be boarded with our three resident dogs: Maggie, Henry and Georgie.
  2. Your dog(s) will be boarded in the home.
  3. No dog registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 will be accepted for home boarding;
  4. Unfortunately we are unable to accept ‘full’ boys for home boarding – ie male dogs that have not been neutered nor any dogs under the age of 6 months – as stipulated by the local licensing authority;
  5. Dog Hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976 (eg Wolf Hybrids) will not be accepted for home boarding.
  6. Bitches in season or bitches due to be in season during boarding will not be accepted for home boarding.
  7. All food, bedding, and food bowl (1 per dog) etc required for your dog(s) will be provided by you prior to the dog(s) being accommodated for Boarding.
  8. You are responsible for the full and appropriate, current vaccination against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine Adenovirus) Leptospirosis (L canicola and L icterohaemorrhagicae) and Canine Parvovirus and other relevant diseases.  The course of vaccination must have been completed at least 4 weeks prior to the date of boarding or in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions.  (Proof of immunity provided via Titer testing may be accepted in the case of those without full vaccinations).
  9. You are responsible for payment for any Veterinary fees incurred due to accident or injury of the dog(s) throughout the course of its Boarding.
  10. All dogs are required by law to have an identification tag and collar with the owners name and address.  Booker Pet Care will supply temporary tags notifying of Booker Pet Care contact details for the duration of your dog’s stay with us.
  11. The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client’s absence. (i.e., food, medication, leads, tags, collars, cat litter etc). Should pets require any additional supplies whilst in the care of Booker Pet Care, these will be purchased and added to the bill.
  12. To secure your booking we require a 50% non-refundable deposit. Should the dog’s stay be cancelled less than 14 days prior to admission, full payment will be due.
  13. If you wish to shorten your booking (for example if you return early from holiday), you will not be entitled to a refund unless notice is given at least 14 days prior to commencement of the booking.
  14. If Booker Pet Care needs to cancel your booking (or any part of your booking) for any reason, you will receive a refund of 100% of any money already paid (or a refund for the part of the booking not delivered)
  15. Any messages, be they via email, text or through Facebook messaging etc from Booker Pet Care are charged at £0.50 per message and are payable when collecting your dog(s) at the end of the booking.
  16. Customers must make Booker Pet Care aware of any unsociable, violent or otherwise undesirable behaviour prior to a booking.  Whilst Booker Pet Care is fully competent in the handling of animals, failure to disclose any relevant information may result in the customer being liable to any costs that arise through actions that could have been prevented through disclosure of this information.  This includes but is not limited to cleaning costs, furniture repair/replacement, damage to personal items, kennelling costs.
  17. We offer a ‘home from home’ boarding service, and as such your dog(s) will reside in the home where there are the usual hazards associated with a normal household. Booker Pet Care cannot be held responsible for any incidents arising from dogs chewing inappropriate items etc.  It is not possible for your dog(s) to be supervised at all times, but every care will be taken to ensure that there are no obvious ‘usual’ hazards.
  18. Damage to our home, furniture or fittings must be reimbursed by the owner of the dog responsible within seven days of the boarding period ending.

Pet Boarding

  1. Pets can only be accepted for boarding when in good health, and you warrant that to the best of your knowledge and belief that your pet on admission for pet care is in good health and not suffering from or carrying any infectious or contagious disease and has not been in contact with any such disease within the last 30 days.  No pet suffering from or suspected to be suffering from any infectious or contagious disease can be accepted into the premises pending advice from our Veterinary Surgeon.
  2. Admissions for dog care will be refused without a valid certificate of inoculation against Distemper/ Hepatitis/ Leptospirosis/ Parvovirus and Infectious Bronchitis (Kennel Cough) or appropriate Titer test. 
  3. All charges and fees are to be paid at the time of departure and no pet shall be released from our care until payment has been made in full.
  4. Notwithstanding acceptance of a booking for pet care, the right is reserved to refuse admission to any pet which in the opinion of Booker Pet Care is of a ferocious nature or otherwise unsuitable for pet care.
  5. The right is reserved to re-home any pet not collected within 14 days of the date arranged if no communication is received from you and reasonable efforts to contact you have failed.  In the event we deem it necessary to re-home your pet due to abandonment all fees shall be payable by you up to the point of re-homing.  An administration charge shall also be payable by you for re-homing your pet and criminal charges could be brought against you for animal abandonment.  The right is also reserved to charge the full pet care fee for the entire period booked if your pet is collected prior to the date arranged.
  6. All deposits payable for pet care are non-refundable and non-transferable.
  7. Pets are required to be defleaded, mited and wormed where appropriate.
  8. Pets are to be transported securely in appropriate crates provided by the owner as appropriate.
  9. Pets are to be housed in secure appropriate hutches, cages etc provided by the owner as appropriate.
  10. Whenever practical, the owners provide their own pet’s familiar, secure housing to ease stress to the pet that change of environment may cause.
  11. If the owner is arriving and collecting their pet from the premises then they supply their own secure escape proof transit accommodation.
  12. The owner accepts that should Booker Pet Care feel that the pet needs veterinary attention we will refer to your stated Veterinary Surgery, or ‘Balanced Being’ in the case of emergency or difficulty, and the veterinary fee will be reimbursed in full on collection to Booker Pet Care by the owner.
  13. The “owner” accepts that any delay in collection will be charged at our current daily prices

Cat and Other Pet Visiting

  1. All keys must be checked to be working before being issued to Booker Pet Care
  2. Booker Pet Care will make adequate steps to ensure your home is safe and secure in your absence as dogs are collected, or pets visited, however Booker Pet Care cannot be held responsible for any burglaries, or accidents caused by your pet(s).

Pet Taxi

  1. All advance bookings are subject to a 50% non-refundable deposit payable in advance.
  2. Any cancellations must be made more than 48 hrs in advance or the full rate will be charged.
  3. Booker Pet Care offers an animal taxi/transport service only.  If an owner wishes to accompany their animal they may do so.  There is no charge for human passengers however, Booker Pet Care’s Insurance will not cover for the passenger.
  4. Payment for all transport services must be paid in advance or at the time of pickup.  Cash or a cheque supported by a bank card covering the full amount of the transaction will be accepted.
  5. If you are not accompanying your pet and Booker Pet Care has agreed to transport your pet on your behalf then a complete medical history must be given before an animal is accepted.  Booker Pet Care can accept no liability for any such conditions that are not disclosed at this time.
  6. Booker Pet Care will take all due care and attention to ensure your pet’s safety.  However, cannot be held responsible for any illness or injury sustained by your pet which is outside of the control of Booker Pet Care.  We are not licensed or trained to offer medical care whilst in transit.
  7. Booker Pet Care has the right to refuse to transport any animal that is not secured in a suitable basket or cage or, in the case of a dog, by an adequate collar and lead. 
  8. Whilst our aim is to deliver professional pet transportation to your satisfaction, we reserve the right for Booker Pet Care to refuse to transport any animal or person without explanation.
  9. If your pet is being transported in order to be admitted to a veterinary practice, we require you to have already met with your veterinary surgeon, signed a form of consent authorising the procedure(s), and discussed the procedure(s) and their implications to your satisfaction.
  10. If your animal is being transported for an urgent or emergency consultation, the veterinary surgeon will need to speak with you personally in order to obtain an exact history from you, and to discuss diagnoses and treatment options.  Booker Pet Care is not able to authorise treatment on your behalf, and will not accept responsibility for any information not passed to the veterinary surgeon which may have influenced treatment options.
  11. If you are not accompanying your pet then payment for scheduled veterinary treatment should be arranged between yourself and your veterinary practice. The usual forms of payment are either a pre-signed cheque supported by a cheque card, or credit card payment over the telephone.  It is your responsibility to ensure that your chosen form of payment is accepted at your veterinary practice.
  12. Booker Pet Care cannot under any circumstances make any payment to a veterinary practice from its own resources.  If your pet requires diagnostic procedures or treatment that exceeds the payment/account that you have previously arranged, Booker Pet Care will not make any payment to the veterinary practice on your behalf.  Please note that this may result in diagnostic procedures or treatment being delayed until you can arrange for such payment.  It is essential that you make adequate provision for this eventuality.
  13. Clients must notify the veterinary surgery that Booker Pet Care will be attending the appointment on their behalf and ensure that arrangements for payment have been made with either Booker Pet Care or the vet.
  14. Any owner wishing to accompany Booker Pet Care whilst an animal is being transported accepts that they do so at their own risk and that Booker Pet Care does not accept any liability for any accident, injury or delay incurred during transportation
