Terms and Conditions

Please consider the following Terms and Conditions. We at Booker Pet Care want to give you and your pets a great service and thus, keep everyone happy.  However, we also want to be clear about what we will/will not or can/cannot offer.

Booker Pet Care provides the following Terms and Conditions for your peace of mind, your pet’s safety and to make clear our liabilities whilst your pet is in our care.  These conditions are non-negotiable, and use of our service implies you have read, understood, and accepted our terms and conditions without exception.

Booker Pet Care will provide the agreed services in a manner that is trustworthy, caring though professional and dependable.  In return, by agreeing to use the services of Booker Pet Care either verbally or in writing, you, the client, and pet owner understands, accepts and agrees to these terms and conditions.

General:

  1. Owners must declare if their pet is likely to cause any harm to themselves, other dogs or our pets, Booker Pet Care family members, visitors to the premises or to the public. If this is not disclosed, then the agreement can be cancelled by Booker Pet Care with no prior notice and no refund.
  2. The contract can be terminated by Booker Pet Care at any time before or during its term if Booker Pet Care, in its sole discretion, determines that the Client’s dog(s) poses a danger to the health or safety, physical or mental condition of the carer.
  3. If the carer (Lynn) or a member of Booker Pet Care’s family or visitor be bitten or otherwise exposed to any disease or ailment received from the Client’s pet, the Client shall be responsible for payment of all costs incurred by the carer in receiving treatment and subsequent care plus any legal costs, economic loss and/or consequential loss arising.
  4. The Dog Information Sheet is provided as Booker Pet Care’s Service Agreement which is valid from the date signed and replaces any prior agreements.
  5. The owner of the pet must complete the agreement form to allow Booker Pet Care to act in the pet’s best interest.
  6. Any additional costs incurred for provisions or veterinary services will be borne by the client with the addition of an appropriate service charge.
  7. Although Booker Pet Care holds Public Liability insurance with Protectivity, wherever possible dogs should be insured by the client.  Booker Pet Care reserves the right to refuse a booking for any animal which is not insured.
  8. Booker Pet Care warrants that it holds Public Liability as well as Care and Custody of Animals, Loss of Keys and Pet Taxi.  Full details will be shown to you on our first meeting or available at any time upon request.
  9. All services specified will be provided in the contract. In consideration of these services and as an express condition thereof, the Client expressly waives and relinquishes all claims against Booker Pet Care including accidental damage to pets.
  10. Booker Pet Care reserves the right to amend or alter these Terms and Conditions as appropriate.
  11. The following days are subject to double rates:  Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve, New Year’s Day, Good Friday, Easter Saturday, Easter Sunday, Easter Monday, and all other Bank Holidays.
  12. Booker Pet Care reserves the right to cancel with minimal notice but will refund any deposits.
  13. The signed Booker Pet Care Services Agreement permits Booker Pet Care to accept all future telephone, online, mail or email reservations and provide services without additional signed agreements.
  14. Booker Pet Care may vary the terms and conditions in connection with the services provided at any time, and service rates are subject to changes sometimes without personal notice.
  15. Email addresses given on Booker Pet Care Services Agreements are added to our mailing list so that you can be kept up to date with informative articles, promotions, new services, and events etc. They are kept confidential and will never be sold or given to any third party.  Booker Pet Care can remove your email address from the list at any time upon your request.
  16. All views expressed on this website are the personal views and opinions of Booker Pet Care and do not represent any specialist or professional guidance or advice.
  17. All copyright, trademarks, design rights, patents, and other intellectual property rights (registered and unregistered) in and on BookerPetCare.co.uk and all content located on the site shall remain vested in Booker Pet Care. You may not copy, reproduce, republish, disassemble, decompile, reverse engineer, download, post, broadcast, transmit, make available to the public, or otherwise use BookerPetCare.co.uk content in any way except for your own personal, non-commercial use.

Dog Boarding

  1. Booker Pet Care will not confirm any booking until a consultation has been carried out with the client and the contract, with full details of client requirements, has been signed by the client followed by a day and overnight trial.
  2. An introductory Boarding Trial is required with all new dog clients.  This is in accordance with Boarding Regulations from Selby District Council and ensures that both Booker Pet Care and the dog concerned are entirely happy during a short stay of one day and one night, before a longer booking is accepted.
  3. Unfortunately, we are unable to accept unneutered dogs for home boarding.  All our dogs are neutered.
  4. Booker Pet Care is unable to accept dogs under the age of 1 year.
  5. Booker Pet Care requires the completion of a Dog Boarding Information Sheet which includes all information about your dog.  This form will be constantly referred to during your dog’s stay with us and therefore must contain all information you want us to know.
  6. The client must provide Booker Pet Care with the name and contact number of someone capable of making a decision relating to the pet(s) in an emergency. This section is included on the Dog Information Sheet.  In the event of an emergency, if the contact is not available Booker Pet Care reserves the right to consult with Sandbeck Veterinary Centre as our personal Veterinary Care, and then decide which is in the best interests of the animal.
  7. Booker Pet Care requires written acceptance that your dog(s) will be boarded with our three resident dogs: Georgie, Maverick, and Cookie.  This section is included in the Dog Information Sheet.
  8. All food, bedding, and food bowl (1 per dog) etc required for your dog(s) will be provided by you prior to the dog(s) being accommodated for Boarding.  Booker Pet Care will provide you with a list of items to consider bringing for your dog’s stay.
  9. All dogs are required by law to have an identification tag and collar with the owner’s name and address.  Booker Pet Care will supply temporary tags notifying of Booker Pet Care contact details for the duration of your dog’s stay with us.
  10. The client must provide all items necessary for pets to be adequately cared for in the client’s absence. (i.e., food, medication, leads, tags, collars, etc). Should pets require any additional supplies whilst in the care of Booker Pet Care, these will be purchased and added to the bill including a £10.00 purchase surcharge.
  11. All dogs are to have up to date inoculations (excluding kennel cough), or appropriate proof of adequate immunity via a titre certificate, be de-flead and wormed prior to admittance.
  12. You are responsible for the full and appropriate, current vaccination against Canine Distemper, Infectious Canine Hepatitis (Canine Adenovirus) Leptospirosis (L canicola and L icterohaemorrhagicae) and Canine Parvovirus and other relevant diseases.  The course of vaccination must have been completed at least 4 weeks prior to the date of boarding.  Proof of immunity provided via Titre testing will be accepted.
  13. The dog’s up-to-date Vaccination Record or Titre Certificate are required to accompany your dog when they come for boarding.  A Photocopy is not acceptable.  Without this record, your dog will not be able to stay with us but full fee will be payable.
  14. To secure your booking we require a 25% non-refundable deposit before the booking will be confirmed.
  15. In the event of a cancellation of any of the booking, including shortening the booking (eg if you return early from holiday), the boarding fee will be payable as follows, dependent upon when we are notified: –
    1. if we are notified more than 4 weeks before boarding start date – no charge
    2. between 2 and 4 weeks before commencement of boarding – 50% payable
    3. Less than 2 weeks before commencement of boarding – 100% payable
  16. No dog registered under the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991 will be accepted for home boarding.
  17. Dog Hybrids registered under the Dangerous Wild Animal Act 1976 (eg Wolf Hybrids) will not be accepted for home boarding.
  18. Any behavioural problems with a dog must be alerted to Booker Pet Care at the time of booking. Failure to do so may result in additional charges or cancellation of any future contract.
  19. Customers must make Booker Pet Care aware of any unsociable, violent or otherwise undesirable behaviour prior to a booking.  Whilst Booker Pet Care is fully competent in the handling of animals, failure to disclose any relevant information may result in the customer being liable for any costs that arise through actions that could have been prevented through disclosure of this information.  This includes but is not limited to cleaning costs, furniture repair/replacement, damage to personal items, kennelling costs.
  20. We offer a ‘home from home’ boarding service, and as such your dog(s) will reside in the home where there are the usual hazards associated with a normal household. Booker Pet Care cannot be held responsible for any incidents arising from dogs chewing inappropriate items etc.  It is not possible for your dog(s) to always be supervised, but every care will be taken to ensure that there are no obvious ‘usual’ hazards.
  21. Damage to our home, furniture or fittings must be reimbursed by the owner of the dog responsible within seven days of the boarding period ending.
  22. You are responsible for payment for any Veterinary fees incurred due to accident or injury of the dog(s) throughout the course of its Boarding with Booker Pet Care.
  23. If Booker Pet Care needs to cancel your booking (or any part of your booking) for any reason, you will receive a refund of 100% of any money already paid (or a refund for the part of the booking not delivered)

Dog Training:

  1. Customers must make Booker Pet Care aware of any unsociable, violent, or otherwise undesirable behaviour prior to a booking.
  2. Consultations are charged at £60.00 per hour plus mileage.  Payment is due immediately following the consultation.
  3. Consultations will be held wherever possible in the home environment of the dog concerned.
  4. Full information regarding the training requirements will be taken before a programme of training can be considered.
  5. Booker Pet Care cannot be held accountable for any issue arising from a training need that is not disclosed at the time.  Full information is required in order that a recommendation for training can be made.

Pet Food:

  1. Booker Pet Care purchases full products from the main supplier of Natural Instinct and Lily’s Kitchen.  We are not engaged in the manufacturing of the items.
  2. Any complaint regarding the quality of the ingredients can be passed to Booker Pet Care for them to resolve with the manufacturer, but Booker Pet Care cannot be held responsible for any manufacturing error.
  3. Orders for dog food delivery can be made at any time, however currently delivery occurs on alternate Wednesdays to Green Hammerton, Kirk Hammerton, Cattal, Tockwith and Bilton in Ainsty.  Deliveries to Monk Fryston, Church Fenton, Sherburn-in-Elmet, Tadcaster, Clifford, Bramham, Boston Spa, Wetherby occur every Thursday.
  4. Payment for the dog food is due immediately on receipt.  Payment can be made in cash or via bank transfer.
  5. Once dog food has been accepted for delivery, or left by arrangement at a client’s address, it cannot be returned to Booker Pet Care for any reason.  We carry out quality checks regarding packaging etc prior to delivery so assured food is left in perfect condition.

Pet Taxi:

  1. Customers must make Booker Pet Care aware of any unsociable, violent, or otherwise undesirable behaviour prior to a booking.  Whilst Booker Pet Care is fully competent in the handling of animals, failure to disclose any relevant information may result in the customer being liable to any costs that arise through actions that could have been prevented through disclosure of this information.  This includes but is not limited to cleaning costs, furniture repair/replacement, damage to personal items, kennelling costs.
  2. Booker Pet Care offers an animal taxi/transport service only.  We are not insured to carry human passengers
  3. Fees for pet taxi are based on mileage and time:
    1. Minimum fee: £10.00
    2. Fee calculated:  £10 for first 5 miles, then £0.80 per mile after that, including return to Booker Pet Care.
    3. Longer journeys incur a further fee of £20 per hour.
    4. Payment is due immediately upon the completion of the journey
    5. All advance bookings are subject to a 50% non-refundable deposit payable in advance.
  4. Any cancellations must be made more than 48 hrs in advance, or the full rate will be charged.
  5. A complete medical history must be provided before an animal can be transported.  Booker Pet Care can accept no liability for any such conditions that are not disclosed at this time.
  6. All due care and attention will be taken by Booker Pet Care to ensure your pet’s safety.  However, cannot be held responsible for any illness or injury sustained by your pet which is outside of the control of Booker Pet Care.  We are not licensed or trained to offer medical care whilst in transit.
  7. Booker Pet Care has the right to refuse to transport any animal that is not secured in a suitable basket or cage or, in the case of a dog, by an adequate collar and lead.
  8. Whilst our aim is to deliver professional pet transportation to your satisfaction, we reserve the right for Booker Pet Care to refuse to transport any animal without explanation.
  9. In the event your pet is being transported to be admitted to a veterinary practice, we require you to have already met with your veterinary surgeon, signed a form of consent authorising the procedure(s), and discussed the procedure(s) and their implications to your satisfaction.
  10. If you require Booker Pet Care to attend the vet appointment with your pet, or wait whilst the vet sees to the animal, this will incur an additional £20.00 per hour charge.
  11. If your animal is being transported for an urgent or emergency consultation, the veterinary surgeon will need to speak with you personally to obtain an exact history from you, and to discuss diagnoses and treatment options.  Booker Pet Care is not able to authorise treatment on your behalf and will not accept responsibility for any information not passed to the veterinary surgeon which may influence treatment options.
  12. Payment for scheduled veterinary treatment should be arranged between yourself and your veterinary practice. It is your responsibility to ensure that your chosen form of payment is accepted at your veterinary practice.
  13. Booker Pet Care cannot make any payment to a veterinary practice from its own resources.  If your pet requires diagnostic procedures or treatment that exceeds the payment/account that you have previously arranged, Booker Pet Care will not make any payment to the veterinary practice on your behalf.  Please note that this may result in diagnostic procedures or treatment being delayed until you can arrange for such payment.  It is essential that you make adequate provision for this eventuality.
  14. Clients must notify the veterinary surgery that Booker Pet Care will be attending the appointment on their behalf and ensure that arrangements for payment have been made with either Booker Pet Care or the vet.
